Ultralearning: Master Hard Skills, Outsmart the Competition, and Accelerate Your Career (Hörbuch-Download): Amazon.de: Scott Young, Scott Young, HarperAudio: Audible Audiobooks Very disappointed This book is basic, unimaginative and frankly boring Essentially it tells you to have a goal, research and plan your learning, set time aside and then work hard at learning it What s new Scott Don t waste your money on this book If you took the stories out of this book there wouldn t be much of it left It strikes me that Scott is just trying to cash in..great title though, pity there s nothing ultra in it. A very well written book which almost feels as if the author is sitting in front of you and having a conversation The content is well structured and inspiring I would totally recommend this book to anyone who is trying to learn new skills and has a full time job going on along with it Scott has established himself as an expert in learning techniques for over a decade I ve been following his writing for a few years and even took his course Rapid Learner I went into this book already understanding the biggest concepts Though I was very excited to see it so well structured and put together in one comprehensive book, that anyone can apply This is, where I admit, I had some trouble before But I m using this book, like a checklist to improve my learning endeavours.I can understand why he touts this as his greatest work yet. Here s a bit of subjectiv critique The stories of Ultralearners didn t interest me that much I could have skipped the first 2 chapters But I understand, establishing some credibility and motivation with some stories is necessary. And while he gives examples for application of the principles techniques, at times I wished he gave examples of how a concept could be implemented in different areas. That aside, I think Ultralearning is flying kilometers above those other NYT bestseller productiviy self improvement books, I see recommended just below this review input field Once you ve owned the skillset of improving the many aspects of improving your learning projects and grasped the power and responsibility that comes with it too much nah you can give those other books a try. I love reading books and learning But this book is perhaps one of the very few I ve stopped reading halfway So poorly written, very little examples to understand his principles Don t buy this book, there are many other books to buy if you want to become ultra lerner , such as Make it Stick. Such a wonderful concept I m actually learning a lot Highly recommended You can adapt the methods given in this book to your own situation and it will surely help you to progress The book got delivered dirty and a little ripped Besides that it s a great self improvement book. This book is about nothing, the beginning goes on and on how some guy had ultralearned topics, without going into actual detail as to how, pages and pages, of stories Then when it gets into detail mid book, you are told about these principles of ultralearning like sharpen your focus, research the subject you re about to learn, talk to someone who already knows it Loads and loads of just common sense bog standard stuff Very little usable content, the author is suited to writing fiction than this type of material, which needs to be objective to the point, filled with usable content rather, stories. Future proof your career and maximize your competitive advantage by learning the skill necessary to stay relevant, reinvent yourself, and adapt to whatever the workplace throws your way in this essential guide that goes beyond the insights of popular works such as Extreme Productivity, Deep Work, Peak, and Make It Stick Faced with tumultuous economic times and rapid technological change, staying ahead in your career depends on continual learning a lifelong mastery of new ideas, subjects, and skills If you want to accomplish and stand apart from everyone else, you need to become an ultralearner Scott Young incorporates the latest research about the most effective learning methods and the stories of other ultralearners like himself among them Ben Franklin, Judit Polgar, and Richard Feynman, as well as a host of others, such as little known modern polymaths like Nigel Richards who won the World Championship of French Scrabble without knowing French Young documents the methods he and others have used and shows that, far from being an obscure skill limited to aggressive autodidacts, ultralearning is a powerful tool anyone can use to improve their career, studies, and life Ultralearning explores this fascinating subculture, shares the seven principles behind every successful ultralearning project, and offers insights into how you can organize and execute a plan to learn anything deeply and quickly, without teachers or budget busting tuition costs Whether the goal is to be fluent in a language orlanguages , earn the equivalent of a college degree in a fraction of the time, or master multiple skills to build a product or business from the ground up, the principles in Ultralearning will guide you to success
